Blue with love

The upper and lower border are created with 3 different colours of chalk inks. The frame (WMS) was embossed with white powder.

First Frost

First Christmas card this year...stamped a blue card with versamark, embossed with clear and sponged with white ink...makes a neat background! The white felt snowflake was die cut and finaly a 'happy holidays' tags was attached with some twine and a button.

Hugs&Hearts

A little 'support card'...PTI fancy flourishes and butterfly stamps. The butterflies have been coloured with copic markers.

Argyle

A little argyle goes a long way! Both in embossing (cuttlebug) and stamping (PTI).

Halloween Birtday Party Invitations

What you didn't see in the previous post is the layout of the card we made at the workshop. It's a fold-open-inside-message kinda card.

So when I sat down, thinking about the Bday party invitations i was going to make...I knew I wanted them to be this layout and since the party takes place on the 31st of october...wel you can guess the type off stamps that were used!

Started with black cardstock for the basic card, added some spiced-marmelade distressed white cardstock stamped with black versafine and spiced marmelade WMS halloween images and finished with the inside invitation, also from WMS.

Turned out pretty great, no?

Hero Art Clings II

The same hero arts Clings but different 'filling' technique. This was made during a workshop Elke gave. She has amazing idea's and every workshop I take, I leave with new skills!! So if you live near Antwerp, Belgium and you are in to paper crafting...you realy should take a class with her!

Poppy field

Stole this idea from a card Elke made (http://elke-verschooten.blogspot.com/). It's a Hero Arts clings stamp (poppy). This stamp creates the background and leaves the image blank. This is one way of using this stamp: stamped in frayed burlap distress ink (this colour is perfect in combo with kraft cardstock!!) and coloured the poppy's with copic marker.
Added a sentiment from WMS and embossed a dotted line with a cuttlebug embossing folder.

Musical Tag

LOOOOOOOOVE the musical background clear stamp set from WMS!!

Started with white cardstock and applied dusty concord and tea die distress ink, stamped the notes. For the sentiment I thought 'just a note' would be a nice touch! ;) So I stamped it in dusty versafine black on a dusty concord distressed piece of cardstock. The frame is also from WMS. The nestabilities die and ink are from Crafts'nThings.

TH inspired Tags

Finally got to making some Tim Holtz inspired tags. I used peeled paint, shabby shutters, mustard seed, aged mahogany, victorian velvet, spun sugar, tea dye distress inks. I sprayed them, dapped them on, used them with the applicator…the works. Really amazed with the result and I will definitely try making some more.
Also..first Christmas related craft thingy…jeej, it’s coming closer! :D

(Grand) Mothers day 02

Grandmother card nr2 features three roses that were created in the same way as the Tim Holtz's grunge flowers. I first designed a simple flower drawing in Illustrator, printed it on white cardstock and cut them out (I didn't have a punch or die, so I went 'old school' ;) ). I coloured the cardstock with a combination of Spun Sugar, Victorina Velvet and Tea Dye with some bronze perfect pearls also in the mix. I then made the flowers.
Added some green Tim Holtz alterations flourishes, ran the background through the swiss dots cuttlebug folder and punched a hole for the 'grandma' sentiment (WMS).

I hope both grandmothers like their card...now I just have to think of a layout for my mom.

(Grand) Mothers day 01

I wanted to try and work a bit more 'classic' than I'm used to for the grandmother cards and this colour scheme matches perfecty with a new kitchen table cloth my grandmother just got (brown, beige and turquoise).
The brown and turquoise plaid background was created using WMS stamps. The frame was cut out by using two labels nestabilities. The flower is from WMS and was coloured with copic markers.

Fly by

A one dimensional card! WMS 'stitched border' PTI butterfly and say it with style stamps on kraft, coloured with copic markers and some bling.

Fly me to the moon

I kept humming 'Fly me to the moon' when making this card.
I was looking for an excuse to try out my new copic markers et voilĂ ... :D
The butterfly stamp, sentiment and die are from PTI.

Fly me to the moon
Let me sing among those stars
Let me see what spring is like, on jupiter and mars

In other words, hold my hand
In other words, baby kiss me

Fill my heart with song
Let me sing for ever more
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore

In other words, please be true
In other words, I love you

Tag

All the stamps are from WMS 'asian gardens'. I realy like the backgroung pattern, fills the void without being to dominant.

Get well in green

I love my new cuttlebug embossing folder...bold dots! The frame was created by stamping one of WMS 'labels ten' stamps with versamark on brown cardstock and using green embossing powder (lettuce-adirondack). For the label I used a spellbinders die and then just cut of the side parts where u usually put the ribbon through. The setiment is also from WMS.

Felt like using felt 3

Final felt for today! Layerd the cuttlebug die and PTI butterfly die and sowed them together. I have a sowing machine at hand, I just never used it. So that's one of the things on my 'to do' list. For this card I first pierced the holes using the Tim Holtz ruler. The text stamp is from Crafts'nthings (http://elke-verschooten.blogspot.com/). The border was created by tracing a spellbinders nestability with the versamark pen and adding green (lettuce) embossing powder.

Felt like using felt 2

Same felt, same colour scheme. 'Celebrate' stamp, Rick Rack border and butterfly die are from PTI, the arrows on the tag are from WMS, the tag was die cut using a spellbinders labels die and the flowers were embossed using a cuttlebug folder.

Felt like using felt 1

I wanted to try working with felt for some time now... so friday I went out and got me a sheet of brown, pink and green felt. First thing i tried was using a punch on it...NO GO! Rolling it through the cuttlebug with a die however worked like a charm. I did notice a big difference in the quality of the felt. The green and brown are thicker and more expensive but they result in less fluffy edges when (die) cut .
Used flower dies (unknown) and the eyelet lace border die (PTI). The text stamp ('small card for a big thanks') is from Crafts'nThings(http://elke-verschooten.blogspot.com/). The small leaves are from WMS.

Anniversary

So my parents 30th anniversary is here...this means I'm turning 30 myself next year. Not realy a reason to celebrate! ;)

My mom has just redecorated their living room and has used bright fuchia as an accent colour...so tataaaaaaa same brightnes in the card. The flower and setiment are from WMS.

New Ones II

This time for a boy. Used the colour scheme from the birth card the parents send us. First time I used the 'Alterations' swirls and it won't be the last. The image and sentiment are from baby button bits by PTI.

New Ones

We have a lot of 'new ones' on the way. This is for a baby girl named 'Fien'. I used a WMS background and the image and sentiment from PTI baby button bits.

The ones you love making

On the up side; my grand father turned 90 past week so I went all out (as much as I can go 'all out' with limited time and skill :D)...and 'stole' the idea of a slide-out-card from Elke (http://elke-verschooten.blogspot.com/2010/06/cuddly-birth-day-card-knuffelige.html)
I made it extra bright and cheery. He loved it...and what he doesn't know yet is that there is a big party this weekend and a first joined-forces card from my mum and me. She made a lace border for a card I made....Will post it when it's finished.

The ones you dread making...

Sympathy cards are so ambiguous to make...on one hand I like putting some thought and creativity in them, on the other hand I feel like I should be commemorating the deceased rather then thinking about colours and lay out....
The stamps are from WMS, the punches are MS ones and the border die is the Eyelet Lace Border die from PTI (again LOVE it just as much as the rickrack one).
To stamp the flowers and to colour the paper used to cut the border out, I used Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet distress ink.

Foreverness

I saw this card, made by Claire from WMS and completely fell head over heels with it! Its clean but stil 'swirly'.
Used the WMS 'fancy tags' for this one.

Fab Friend

Used the 'mod squad' PTI stamps to their fullest!
I'm really fond of the rickrack border die from PTI as well...it cuts so crisp and clean, lovely.

May Waltz

Clean and simple, summer feel (first sun on the card)!
All sorts of red and orange copic markers were used to colour the flowers.
Just love Hibiscus flowers, specially the red ones..we have 4 plants on our balcony.
Claire has done a brilliant job in designing these stamps, they are gorgeous!!!

WaltzingMouse Challenge

I tried to comply to the challenge outsets... Used Vintage circles, Faux Fun circles and Say it With Style .
I love the compatibility with the nestabilities sets and I turn to these stamp sets a lot!
Stamped everything with brown Versafine

Surf 's Up!

Again the Waltzing Mouse stamps (free spirit boy) are being put to work for a male card. Background embossing is done with a cuttlebug embossing folder.

Bubble

Thanks to Waltzing Mouse Stamps I now have some great simple stamps for 'male' card...Rough'nThough! :D
Used copics markers on some of the white embossed parts.

Flying B-day

I used the EK Succes embossed curve punch for the blue, the plane for Tiny Treats PTI and the text stamp from Around and About text stamps PTI. The plane is coloured with copics. I did smudge up the last 'you' :(

Late NewYears

For the dinner table at New Years eve I made these name tags. Took a plastic ball, glued 3 labels (nestabilities) ,that I stamped with Waltzing Mouse stamps, in a 3D form with a string in the middle. Hung the 'ornament' inside the ball and added some small silver coloured deco mini pearls. Glued a ribbon around it and voila, done!

Baby Prince/Princess

Love this 'Iris' stamp (available at Crafts'nThings http://elke-verschooten.blogspot.com/). I was so happy with the way they turned out I made a boy and girl card. The text stamp is from Baby button bits PTI.

Mother

A simple card for the upcomming mothersday. Cuttlebug flourish frames doesn't need much additional decorating. The stamp is from the 'women of life' PTI set.

Cupcake Card

The order I placed at Papertrey Ink took an unbelievable 5 (yes FIVE) weeks to reach me. Don't have to tell you how badly I wanted to use them!! :D
This card is a combination of the Cupcake collection and Retro Backgrounds.
The top of the cake is colourde with copics...since Elke introduced me to Copic markers in a workshop at her store, I'm hooked!!

Flying invitation

2 weeks ago we celebrated my mothers 60th Bday and for that occasion I created these invitations. I was completely fed up with the cold and the snow and so I wanted to create something 'springy'.

The turquoise paper is stamped with a background stamp I bought at 'Viva Las Vegas Stampstore'. The dots around 'uitnodiging' are stamped with one of the nestie compatible stamps from Waltzing Mouse.

It took me a while to get the butterfly right, first a white paper one (cuttlebug emboss/cut combo) covered with a transparent one. The transparent one is stamped with stazon brown ink and the 'body' was created by adding some turquoise glitter.

In addition I made the menu's and name tag's in the same colour scheme...but unfortunatelt forgot to take a picture of the complete table setting *sigh*. Hopefully another relative was a bit smarter so I can post a picture of them later.
